Need a quick start or overview of Bb NG? This session is designed to provide you with a quick start, especially those who have designing, building, or teaching classes in Blackboard CE or Vista.
Abstract
* Title of session
Bb NG, quick start – Looking at Bb NG from a CE – Vista perspective
* Purpose of session (why is this important and who is the target audience)
To give those currently using Bb CE and Vista a perspective of Bb NG and how they can adapt what they currently know and do to a new GUI and system. Applicable to both faculty and instructional designers, course developers etc.
* Objectives of the session (what are you planning to do)
Show how course content can easily be developed in Bb NG and how tools and ideas, concepts, and methods adapt from Bb Vista/CE to Bb NG. The latest available release of NG will be shown. Probably Bb 9.1
See new tools for integrating content.
Get up to speed quickly.
* Practical applications (how can your results/strategies be used by others)
Participants will know where to start with Bb 9.1 and have an good perspective of the course and content building process.
* Information (data or theoretical base) to support what is advocated.
The Bb NG framework and GUI is different than Bb Vista/CE. While the tools are there, the approach to course design and layout has changed.
* Hands-on experience (if applicable), and what particpants will need to bring to the session.
This could be a hands on if you want. I am not sure if we would have Bb NG installed at UEN so we could create accounts for hands on. We could explore that if you like.
